Birthday Bowling!

Since I couldn't really think of anything to do for my 35th birthday, Kaycee suggested that we go bowling (her friend Shane had a bowling party last year). So, I agreed. We took our friends Jan, Steve, Nolan and Shayla. Was fun....Jan and I were just happy there were no broken toes - and we didn't get kicked out. I think it helped that we had the place to ourselves though, not many bowlers at 4:00 in the afternoon. Was a GREAT B-day!

Since the temp's around here have been in the 50's for about a week (where do I live???) we went hiking around twin creek this weekend. Was so warm - felt like spring! I'm gonna be really bummed when the high temp doesn't get above 5 again.

Ouch!

When I got back from running on Wednesday, Jackson took off my hat, put it on his head and started running around in circles screaming "I'm a runner, I'm a runner, I'm a runner". Apparently, the fact that my hat was too big for his little noggin didn't stop him from running as fast as he could. Even when the hat fell down over his eyes. Hence, Jackson discovered that he can't run through walls... especially the sharp corners... and hopefully he learned it is a good thing to see where you are going. That "goose egg" was HUGE! I don't even think this picture does it justice it was so big. But... he seems to be alright. Is just a matter of time until I post a pic of him in the E.R.. I'm certain of it.

Here is Jackson with his little Friday buddies... my Friend Cindy and I swap kids so we can volunteer in our kids' kindergarten class during the week. Jackson LOVES Fridays because he has a bigger audience than normal. Logan is in the back, Mason is the cutie in front and Madison is in front too... she's just like another Kaycee so she and Jackson get along "swimmingly". They wanted to have a campfire in the Hello-Kitty tent... but settled on a bowl of mini-marshmellows instead. Since the weather has been unseasonably warm over the last 3 days, Jackson and I cruised up to Sink's Canyon to go on a little hike. We stopped to throw a few snowballs on Bruce's bridge and had so much fun, we just kept throwing snowballs for about an hour or so. There were a few hikers who passed us by... I think they thought we had lost it, but we had a "ball"!!

Utes Take Gonzaga....Barely!

We aren't in New Orleans for the big football game today (VERY JEALOUS John & Shaunel)..... but we were able to catch the Utah vs. (much higher ranked) Goazaga basketball game on New Years Eve. We weren't really expecting Utah win, but lo and behold... they won, by one!

Kaycee was VERY into the second half. Jackson lost most interest once he discovered the cookies-n-cream dots ice cream, popcorn, pizza and cotton candy (no wonder I can't keep his damn face clean... ha!). We had a fun time - was a full week too with our "King's Day" party (we were SO SPOILED) and elk hunting (didn't get anything, but had fun just "getting out"). Wish I would have taken more pictures, but just had too much fun playing!! Anyhow, Happy New Year and GO UTES!!!

Hoppin Holiday!

Well.... it's been a crazy holiday! Here are a few pictures from what we have been doing over the last part of this month.

Here is Kaycee and her friend Mason before their Christmas concert at Lander High School. Was so cute!! They sang with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. Kaycee's favorite song was "The Rainbow Connection". I did get the whole Rudolph song on video... might upload that later. We were so proud of her!! (btw.. that bruise on her chin was courtesy of Jackson throwing a toy pistol at her face).

Kaycee and Jackson with their cookie creations for Santa on Christmas Eve... as you can see, Jackson probably shoved more frosting in his mouth than on his cookie. They were so excited!

Who knows what Santa was thinking giving the kids lightsabers.... Jason was brave enough to challenge our little monster. Anyone else up for a duel is welcome over. Kaycee and I are just too chicken. We've seen what he can do with a pistol.

Grandma and Grandpa Conder found this perfect gift for Jackson.... think he will get a lot of use out of it.

While everyone else was snoozing, Kaycee and I snuck out to go ice skating. Was only her 3rd time going (1st this season) and after a few falls, she remembered how to do it. We had a GREAT time.

Sometimes, it's just the little things that make us smile!

We hope Granny and Grandpa had a fun time (poor Grandpa had the stomach flu while he was here - but he made a full recovery) we were so glad they made it here and back safely. Thanks for everything Gerald and Kathy!!!
Happy Holidays!!

Let it snow!

It started snowing in our "neck of the woods" this morning. Only have a couple of inces or so, but I hope it keeps on coming! Have been itching to get out on those sleds again.
Let it snow, let it snow!!!

Choppin down our tree.

We had a fun time picking out our Christmas tree yesterday - was especially nice this year since it was a balmy 55 degrees up in Sinks Canyon! Nice and toasty compared to previous teeth chattering, bone chilling, "when the heck is Jason gonna pick out a damn tree" years. Didn't even get a chance to drink our hot chocolate since we were out of there within an hour. Trimmed a bit off the bottom once we got home (very Grizwold-ish of us) but it turned out. The kids LOVED decorating the tree too.... who knows, we might still add a string of popcorn or a few more art projects before the New Year. ;O)
