SpRiNg BrEaK??

Spring break started today. Good thing we didn't have any plans to travel since we keep getting more and more snow!! Was actually kind of nice since I don't' think we have made a snowman all year!!! Kaycee made her entire snowman herself - luckily, we took a picture since Bo tore everything off it once we went inside. Jackson was the one to demolish his snowman about two seconds after his snapshot.

We hiked around sinks canyon for a bit last week. Was still a little icy, but the kids (& Bo) enjoyed soaking up every ounce of sunshine on the rocks. So looking forward to more hiking this spring!

Moab

I love Moab. I could live there. Jas & I went down there this weekend for the half-marathon. We asked the kids if they wanted to go...but they were much more excited about spending the weekend with "Granny & Grampy" Conder.
We didn't object.

The race was fun! About 30 degrees at the start, but it warmed up quickly. Was a relief since Friday had horrible winds and blowing snow. After the race we hiked around Arches National Park for a bit.

Sunday morning we biked slick rock. Was the warmest day there. Which was a good thing since Jason's derailleur decided to break about 3 miles out. We attempted to salvage the chain by shortening it and keeping the bike in one gear, but even the chain was bent and wouldn't stay on. So, Jason went "chainless" the second half of the course. Wasn't too bad since it was mostly downhill. He only had to walk uphill then coasted down. We still made decent time.

We said good-bye to that k-mart special bike at the trailhead. No tears. It may still be in the dumpster. I'm thinkin next time we will just rent one of those "fancy schmancy" bikes from town.

We had so much fun, but missed the kids. Think that we will have to come back with them next time. Just felt so nice to be WARM for a weekend. As I am typing this, it is snowing. Must be spring!

Loof Toof

Hallelujah! Kaycee's 1st "loof toof" FINALLY came out on Saturday!! No more cutting up foods into 1/2 inch squares. No more carnation instant breakfast meals with a straw. No more anxiety about swallowing a loose tooth while sleeping. Along with anxiety about how to extract a swallowed loose tooth to cash in w/the fairy.
Whew!
At least until the next loose tooth comes along.

Surprise!!

Looks like we have a new addition to our family! Meet "Bandit". Jason brought him home at lunch time yesterday. I don't think anyone could resist keeping him after spending an hour with him. He is a 12 week old "shepherd mix" and is a BIG SWEETHEART!

We think we are going to call him "Bo"....and keep the "Bandit" part for his last name. Our friend Todd adopted his brother so we are excited that they will get to visit each other once in awhile. Coda seems to like him so far too..... Bo hasn't pestered him too much yet. And Coda could surely use a buddy these days!!

Brooks Lake

Our friends Jim and Bill have been trying to get Jason to go ice fishing with them for awhile. He finally went this weekend. They headed out to Brooks Lake (near Dubois) before sunlight. He had a blast! They snowmobiled in about 5-6 miles and were able to drive right up to their fishing holes. There is a nice lodge there where they had a yummie lunch before heading back. Wasn't fair...was about 40 degrees there and about 25 here. Boo! The kids and I LOVED eating that fish though. Very tasty! Next time, we're tagging along.

Cousin G.K.

Last month G.K. (my little sis' 18 month old cutie pie) was able to stay with us for a week while his parents vacationed in Hawaii. We were so excited to watch him!! He was honestly the best kid I have EVER hung out with. VERY easy going and VERY sweet! I think he should be a veterinarian. I've never seen anyone LOVE Coda and the horses so much. We already miss him and can't wait to play with him again.
