Wheeler Farm

We took one quick trip to Salt Lake before school schedules and soccer madness starts. We went to Wheeler farm with Granny and Cousin Libby.

I haven't been to Wheeler Farm in so long! It has changed since the early 90's. They have a lot to do and it isn't very expensive. The kids loved feeding the ducks and geese. There certainly were enough of them.

The poor pigs were miserable in the heat. And it was hot. Sometimes I feel how they looked. The one is trying to take a swim in his drinking bowl, but his hind legs don't quite fit.

We found the ugly duckling. Doesn't it look like he is wearing a hat?

I think they are ready to get out into the hay fields.

The tractor ride was so relaxing. At least it was for little Libby, she fell asleep on my lap :D.

When we were finished looking at everything, Libby woke up and was anxious to get out of that stroller. She was being so cute, we had a little photo shoot before heading home. Isn't she so sweet?!

SeVeN!

Look who turned 7 on August 5th!

I just love that toothless smile!

We decided to celebrate by going to 7 peaks on Kaycee's big day (plus she read 400 minutes in June ONLY under the condition that we would be able to go to 7 peaks this summer).

We weren't sure how it would go with gigantic thunder clouds hovering over the park that morning. Not to mention it was raining. We were only the 3rd car in the parking lot! But, they were open, so we went on in.

It was still warm...and we were in our suits ready to get wet....so everything worked out. Rain stopped. Sun came out. More family came.

...cont'd

We only had until 3:30 to play since some local dentists bought out the park for the afternoon. Which we thought would be lame. But because of the early closing time, the park was empty! We didn't have to wait in line for any rides! Was a blast.
We had cupcakes afterwards. Kaycee was too embarrassed to open her presents. Or be sung to. So she hid in the car. Ha.
What is a birthday girl to do without throwing in some drama. I took a picture of her w/her cupcake when we got home. :D

After the water park, Granny & Grampy treated us to some YUMMIE Mexican food.. Kaycee and Riley were rolling down a big hill at the park - made me dizzy just watching. I must be old or something. But they were making all of us laugh.

To top it all off, Grandpa Bruce brought his cool propane/insta/lava-rock/fire-pit thingie to the park and we roasted marshmallows.

We certainly had no trouble falling asleep that night. Was super fun!
Happy Birthday Kaycee!

sun-n-sand

On Friday we headed over to Louis Lake to cool off a bit. It has been so hot in town lately! The cool water felt sooo goooood. Although we couldn't just jump right in...had to wait for it to warm up a bit before we dared dunk our heads in that ice cold water. We were there for about 5 hours just playing in the water, laying in the sand and soaking up the fresh mountain air.

Then on Saturday we were still too hot to stay home, so we all packed into the car and spent the afternoon at Frye Lake. Caught this one fish which Jason took a picture of with his phone. Didn't have another nibble the entire time. But, we ran into some friends who were camping up there and had fun visiting with them instead.

School starts 3 weeks from today....so NOT ready for the kids to go back yet!!! We're not done playing!!!
