All Dressed up!

Posted by Picasa
This doesn't happen very often in our house....getting all dressed up. Every year the kids know that I am going to make them dress up and take their pictures by the Christmas tree. Kaycee DREADS it. Jackson LOVES it. Kaycee has informed me that dress will never touch her skin again - we might as well give it to someone else who will wear it. Jackson digs his new vest and tie and thinks he is cool since he looks "just like Dad going to work".

Somehow, we were able to work it all out and get some shots for our Christmas card. Maybe next year we will break tradition and do a couple of pic's in their jammies.....they do look so cute all dressed up though.... don't you think??? Even if it's only for 30 minutes a year.

Tree

After coming home from Thanksgiving, the kids REALLY wanted to get our Christmas tree. So, we headed out near South Pass and found one relatively close. I swear Jason could spend 3 weeks searching for the "perfect" tree. It's fun that he gets such a kick out of it. Jackson picked out a "beeeeautiful" one that was only about 30 feet high and 20 feet wide... but he had to settle for one just a wee bit smaller. There has already been a lot of talk about Santa and Pixie & Trixie (Santa's Elves who keep tabs on Kaycee and Jackson) around here lately.
Bring on the Holidays!

Cuddly

We had so much fun at John's house for Thanksgiving...I think our favorite part was cuddling up with Libby. She is so sweet and little!! I think John and Libby have the same hair - even tried to give John the same "hawk" she has, can kinda see it in the bottom pic. Thanks again John and Shaunel for the fun weekend!

Pheasants & Fall

It has been so nice around here lately.... hard to believe we had loads of snow last month! Jackson and I were tempted to steal Kaycee from school to play "hookie" at the park. But we knew better. That girl LOVES her class & the friends she has in it. So, we just hung out by ourselves and soaked up every ounce of sunshine!!

A couple of months ago we found out that Coda has Melanoma (skin cancer). Poor dog. It has spread through his lymph nodes and he has a gigantic tumorous growth below his lower left eye. We have been keeping a close watch on him and he seems to be doing alright so far....still happy and hasn't lost much of his enormous appetite (that dog can EAT). So, we decided to take him Pheasant hunting near Ocean Lake on Saturday. I haven't seen Coda run like that in a couple of years. He was so HAPPY! Within about a half hour, he scared up two birds for Jason (which he shot & was the limit - so we headed back to the car). On the way back Coda caught the scent of another bird. Jackson was yelling at him "No No Coda... we don't need anymore. You can stop now". Ha. Coda scared up the rooster anyway and chased it for about 15 minutes. Was great to see him doing what he LOVES. Needless to say, he is still a bit sore - but happy.

Yeeeee Haaaawwww!

Kaycee and Jackson wanted to be a cowgirl/cowboy for halloween this year. They picked everything out themselves (except for their boots....had to do that one without them). Thought they did a good job!

We went trick-or-treating at the businesses downtown around 4. At first, Kaycee wasn't too thrilled about it because it was still light outside and she didn't like everyone looking at her. But, after a few blocks and some yummie candy, she and Jackson were having a lot of fun!

We ran into a couple of the kids' friends downtown and trick-or-treating (although, we don't know the guy w/the goofy eyeballs.... Jackson just couldn't stop staring at him).
